THE KRHOPEN

INDIA PALE ALE

In the mid-1800s, ships delivering beer to India made stops off the California coast to dry hop their cargo. It was not easy diving into the underwater hop fields and facing the krHOPen beast protecting its beloved hops. Brewed with Nugget, Apollo, Cascade and Chinook, we dedicate this IPA to the brewers lost at sea fighting the beast.

Son of a Beach Blonde got it’s start when one beer recipe was accidentally mixed with another. No one knew what would result. Ten days later, we tasted this “BASTARD” and the first comment heard was “Son of a B.B.B. Beach, this Blonde is really good”.

OAKLORE

BROWN ALE

According to “Oaklore,” Orange County was originally covered in giant sequoias and oaks. Loggers chopped down these trees making room for orange groves. The orange groves flourished, and the area became known as Orange County. Brewed to lumberjack standards, this brown ale has a nutty caramel flavor with a sweet hint of vanilla.

50bbl Fermenters #7 and #8

50bbl Fermenters #7 and #8

Evans Brewing Company operates out of three locations in Orange County, California: a 17bbl brewery in Irvine; our office and warehouse in Santa Ana; and our restaurant and taproom, The Public House by Evans Brewing Company, in downtown Fullerton and now open in the Bella Terra Mall in Huntington Beach.

The Brewery, established in 1994, is the oldest craft brewery in Orange County and one of the oldest in all of Southern California. Located inside the McCormick and Schmick’s Restaurant at 2000 Main Street, the brewery has an annual capacity of approximately 12,000+ barrels. Our small, labor-intensive operation produces nine permanent styles with many seasonal and small batch offerings. With eight 50bbl fermenters, one 17bbl fermenter and a 50bbl brite tank, we brew beers from light blonde ales, to complex Russian Imperial Stouts. We package our beers using a homemade PLC-controlled, dual keg cleaner/filler and a six head Meheen bottling machine and a CASK 6o can per minute canning system.

We do not have a tasting room at our Irvine brewery, but all of our beers are available in the Pilsner Room at McCormick and Schmick’s, with a clear view of our brewery. Visit at the right time, and you can even watch us brewing as you enjoy an Evans beer.

As our official tasting room and restaurant, The Public House features all of our beers on draft, paired with our own signature dishes including our own line of Beer infused Brats. For more details, please visit The Public House page.
